Senegal Exit the World Cup : On number of yellow cards

The last African team that had the chance to qualify for the Round of 16 , Senegal, has been knocked out on a "fair play" tie-breaker rule introduced in the 2018 World Cup where Yellow/Red cards are added up for fair play points.  Now Senegal and Japan were locked on points, Goal difference, etc, but In my opinion, extra time, and a penalty shootout would be much more a better way to go about settling situations like that, especially because Africans play a more Athletic,Physical, style of football.
