Spiritual Ideas for Modern Man
Since the dawn of the modern era and the push of all things science, it seems that civilisation has disregarded the need for spirituality and looked upon it as something completely illogical to spend our focus as a species on. I guess you could call this the Atheist. But there is something wrong with this attitude, as posed by Friedrich Nietzsche in Thus Spoke Zarathustra or when he is famously quoted for the exclamation “God is Dead”. In his philosophy he expresses the belief that without spirituality or the idea of the Ubermensch then civilisation is indefinately doomed to plunge into chaos and to vacate all values such as morality because without the idea of the higherself then we are directionless and an unmotivated speicies when concerned with the improvement of the self.Anyway here are some ideas I wrote down when I was mucking around which might contribute to modern Attitude of spirituality in a positive idea - feel absolutely free to scrutinise this:
1. There is an invisible language in the world. It constantly surrounds us. The language is universal, it speaks to us through Omens and Signs and things which appear or occur inevitably. At different times within an individuals life the omens and signs will point to a reoccurring theme. The language is written by the hand of destiny and indicates as to what is meant to be.
2. In accordance with Epicurean thoughts: All things consist of atoms and void. Atoms of varying size swirl around at random, sometimes colliding and combining to create worlds, all mater and even mental or emotional states. In this way the soul may consist of fine atoms. And as atoms swerve mans destiny is not fixed, so he has free will. Combinations die and with them the body and soul die - rejoining in a pool of atoms where they may recombine into the universe.
3. Could it be posed that spirituality is the very motivation which bades the atom to exist and behave as it does within the infinite confines of infinite combinations that are available to it?
4. The world then has a soul and it is woven and waxed by the cloth of being, with all the decorative and illogical elements of space and time and infinity.
5. We have a genetic kinship to all life on earth, an atomic kinship to all matter in the cosmos. Not only are we an aperture of the universe discovering itself but the universe is within us. Not figuratively but also literally stardust.
6. To explain out spirituality, in Hindu this is called Brahman nirguana- Things which lie beyond our caliber of understanding, description and approach. Then there is Brahman Saguna: Attributed to the gods and relationship with them. Men have used this to manifest the beyond within our limited senses. Brahman is expressed in man, animals and plants, but everything has a trace of the divine - an energy which flows theough us all.
7. Similar ideas have been maintained in aboriginal cultures and even the Romans who believed in Numen - a force and power behind all things.
8. One must learn to operate with their intuition on the same frequency of which the language of the world speaks through.
9. We must learn to conquer ourselves, to continue in life we must transform (metamorphosis) when we are victorious in our battles with the self then we may conquer the external world. Find what tethers you to the world. Life has no meaning, it is our obligation to create it for ourselves we cannot look outwardly until we find the answer to our solace within.
10. The overman is someone from prejudice and moralities of human society. One who creates their own value and purpose - Albert Camus Absurd Hero
11. We value struggle and hardship - The road toward the overman is difficult and requires immense sacrifice.
12. Deal with inner troubles do not let them become part of a bigger monster that secretes itself in the sub conscious autonomously acting within you and taking hold.
I guess I wrote these as little thoughts that do need alot of sharpening but this was merely created for discussion - Man should not abandon the venture of achieving the highest self.
A good start to putting your thoughts down on paper. Keep it coming.
