ANDERSON .PAAK RECRUITS KUNG FU KENNY FOR FUNK FLAVOUR
‘Tints’ Recruits Kendrick Lamar to deliver the funk (“we want the funk”) on the second single from Paak’s third solo and upcoming album ‘OXNARD’. The first single ‘Bubblin’ also re-released as a remix with Hyperspeed bars from Bustab Rhymes, started the hype around the album and Tints only fuels the bonfire raging as fans thirst for more self titled ‘Cheeky Andy’.
The guitar driven song is coloured with flavoursum percussion sounds, cowbells, chimes and funk guitar movements dancing on top of a baseline thicker than me after a burrito and frozen yoghurt session. It’s refreshing to hear K. Dot on a lighter song compared to his sonically heavier hits such as ‘HUMBLE.’ and ‘DNA’ which have been on heavy rotation since ‘DAMN’ dropped late 2017.
‘OXNARD’ was mixed by Dr Dre as announced in multiple Instagram posts which is exciting because not only will the album be creatively constructed by Paak and all of the featured producers, but Dre’s ability to mix with a creative flair means the album will be quality from top to bottom. He stopped by Beats 1 Radio earlier today to premier the track and also hinted at features from J. Coke and Pusha T. Sounds like there is an Album of summer anyhems
