What’s your WHY?
Due to the nature of my job, I have to take Grab rides pretty often and most of the time I’ll strike conversations with the Grab drivers. So today, I was talking to a Grab driver and casually asked about the current Grab situation. I was expecting him to complain about it just like the other drivers. However, to my surprise, he said it’s still alright, he is bringing home $4,000 after deducting all his costs.
I asked him how did he manage to do that!
He replied, “no choice, I work 7 days a week.”
So I said,”but why?”
He replied: “For my daughter.”
He looked pretty young so I asked for his age. He revealed that he is 22 years old this year and his daughter is 5 months old.
I probed further and asked if the car belongs to him. He said yes! He bought it 5 months ago because buying a car costs him $1,200 while renting costs $2,200 per month.
He shared that both his parents do not support him financially and he is navigating this game of life on his own.
His biggest motivation is his newborn daughter.
That really touched my heart. I was truly happy to meet such driven individual.
“People often wonder what’s their WHY. Maybe it’s true that you’ve to go through some life changing incident in order to find it.”
What’s your WHY?
Why some people prefer asking for pennies on the streets when they have a healthy body that can go to a decent work if only theywant it enough. 😟
Preach brother!!! Just take the journey one step at a time. Don't force your "why" let nature take its place 😁
