being a sucessful working mum is getting harder and harder to achieve
It may not be an opinion no oneone has ever had before, but it's one I'm really feeling lately.
It's hard to be a young mum, have a childcare-hour friendly job that pays more than minimum wage, find the balance between working enough hours to pay for everything and spending enough time with your child. Make lunches and dinner (and give your child a balanced nutritional diet all round), keep a clean house, run all the errands, do the groceries- these are all things that you feel obliged to do when, even though you are also working, the majority of the financial parts of life are covered by your partners wage (this is in my experience. To all the single parents out ther, I salute you! You are the true superheroes doing it all.) Seriously though my wages are enough to cover groceries and childcare. Rent, power, phone, car, insurance internet payments are all covered by my partner. Which I'm grateful for, but I'm always stuck between wishing I could do more to help, and feeling guilty for the fact that I'm unable to.
Life is rarely easy. Take out of each day the happy moments and replay those in your mind when you are felling under pressure.
