The Best Cafes in Melbourne
Melbourne in Victoria is a city that holds a special place in my heart. I've been visiting the state of Victoria for quite some time now. My family used to take my brother and I there as small children. We'd make the beautifully long trip down The Great Ocean Road, go for surf lessons in Lawn, camp up in the Yarra Valley.
But there's another thing that I hold dear to me- coffee. And luckily for me Melbourne has amazing coffee. And, luckily for you, I've rounded up the five best cafes that the city has to offer.
Located in South Yarra on Ellis Street, these guys really know their stuff. They can tell you the whole story of the journey of the bean to your cup. Their menu is also entirely vegan. Excellent!
Also in South Yarra, and located opposite Prahran Market, is Market Lane Coffee (see what they did there?). Ask owner Fleur Studd anything, I mean anything, and she'll answer. She even lets you have a taste of each blend before you buy your bag of beans and the bag will come with tasting notes too so you can show off your coffee knowledge to your mates.
Assembly in Carlton isn't just strictly about coffee. They also do some amazing teas that they're passionate about too. The environment is relaxed and chilled. They also do some sweet treats to die for.
This place is as tiny as it is charming. The exposed brickwork gives it a rustic, industrial feel. The food is divine, and guilt free! No animals were harmed in the production of their delightful dishes. They also do vegetarian and raw dinners on Friday nights.
Situated in the backstreets of Collingwood, this cafe is amazing for catching up with friends or sitting down to attack your freelance work, fuelled by their own blend coffee. The owner made his own six, yes SIX, group head coffee machine so that the blends don't get contaminated.
