Why I'm obsessed with reaction videos to UK urban music

I don't know if anyone follows UK Music, but over the past few years they've had this fun genre called 'Grime'. It's basically UK rap.

It's a cool genre because rather than having an American influence, it actually has a strong African influence. This is because lots of young UK people have family roots in Africa and the cultural influence has translated to the music.

Anyway, this musical style has recently developed into two new genres - Drill and Afro B.

Drill is like American trap, i.e. it's aggressive rap, all night time and male aggression.

Afro B is what I like. It's basically African influenced RnB and is a new musical genre that is apparently taking over in the UK. Basically, people are loving it and you can see why.

If you're curious, here's Spotify's playlist on it to catch up!:

Anyway, there's a load of videos on YT about people reacting to this new form of UK music and I find it really interesting.

Firstly, it's often Americans or Canadians, who have their own unique charm haha.

Secondly, there's this fun mix of confusion as they try to figure the music out - because it is different.

But then, they realise that's it's good haha and they get into it.

Here's some videos I've watched, hope you find them fun too!

thanks
