‘My brain feels like it’s been punched’: the intolerable rise of perfectionism
This article really resonated with me. I feel like I'm a perfectionist, and I use that as a negative. I'm always obsessing over getting things 'right' and I end up not enjoying things because of it.
The article describes the 'hidden epidemic of perfectionism', and I've definitely noticed this a lot in my friends.
I think social media plays a bit part of this as we're always seeing our lives as 'not enough' -> not cool enough, fun enough, successful enough etc.
I also think modern live contributes to this as it's so hard to be a success now and to make enough money to live a happy live. You're always have to compromise in some area which leads to dissatisfaction.
