Inner rambles.
What’s the point of social media?
It was created to supposedly connect people in one worldwide online community.
What is it actually?
A place where many call their home and others call it their hell.
______
The way social media has gone, it’s more about images then words.
It’s more about getting a hundred likes on a Instagram post or the latest Snapchat filter streak.
No one cares for the silent, for the unseen.
If you have 380 friends yet have no one to turn to, If you have a ton of followers watching your every move yet never seek to ask- but, how are you really?
Social Media, created to connect us all, has interacted with our lives differently, constantly and without change- but has it truly connected us?
Behind the edited images and photoshopped pics there are real people, everyday people, just like you and me.
But often people don’t realise that, don’t realise that. They shouldn’t be put on some pedastol to be worshipped. They bleed like us, they feel like us. They are one of us.
Social media was created to connect us- but how connected do you really feel?
Because I personally, have never felt more alone.
I understand. Hopefully hinterland is or becomes a more open and honest app where people can really connect with others who share their views or interests. What i share with other people is my love of football and music and both give me the chance to have a conversation with complete strangers, they may not be a friend for life, but in that moment the connection can give a really good vibe and make everyone feel happy and that their views are worthy of consideration and respect.
