Does language really matter in music?
As we all know by now, the K-pop group "BTS" has taken the world by storm and is gaining massive attention from the west media.
And, obviously, their songs are in Korean (considering that they are, in fact, a K-pop group)!
Now, we all know that not everybody speaks and understands Korean, right?
Which leads us to the question— Does Language Really Matter In Music?
When you listen to an English song, you do not only listen to the beat, but also the lyrics. You understand the lyrics. Unlike listening to music in other languages, you would've understood the meaning of the song easily.
If, by chance, you listen to a song that isn't in your native language or a language that you do not speak (for example: Despacito) and like it without understanding the lyrics, would it be bad to give it a chance?
Of course not!
You see, music breaks barriers. Language does not matter when listening to a song. When you feel what the artist is trying to convey, even if you do not understand it, but you feel it, doesn't that make them good musicians?
Actually feeling the song is much more better than just merely listening.
But!
What if you're still hesitant because you don't understand?
Good for you, we have translations on the internet. Take advantage of our technology and use it to your benifit!
Now go and listen to Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish and much more music!
Don't let the language intimidate you!
