Sashi K Jun 16, 2018 in Movies My 5 Most Favorite Crime Movies (So Far) Besides writing and reading, one of my most favorite activity is watching films. Crime movies hold a special place in my heart, especially if it is mixed with drama, action, or comedy. Without further ado, here’s my five most favorite movies in my 17 years of living! 1. The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) This will sound very subjective because I LOVE Wes Anderson, but I do think the way he directs his movies is brilliant. I also like his storytelling style. The Grand Budapest Hotel is, in my opinion, one of his best work. It’s not heavy—you don’t have to think hard to get the film—and it’s not “cheap”. It’s captivating in its own way. Sure, its plot is not the best and...
cassiopeia May 29, 2018 in Movies family & cool topics How do you know if something's your favorite? Like, how do you know your favorite band is Twenty Øne Piløts or your favorite book is Eleanor & Park? You just know, you know? (Ha) Like how Captain Fantastic has just become one of my favorite movies of all time. The moment the film ended and the credits started coming on, I just knew that it shoved itself into a special place in my heart and my favorite movies shelf in my imaginary and dream dorm room. Because to be completely honest, Captain Fantasic is just quite simply, effin' fantastic. CF is a 2016 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Matt Ross and starring Viggo Mortensen (Wikipedia, Ily),...
cassiopeia May 16, 2018 in Movies sharks & goals My ultimate dream ever is to travel the world. All 196 countries and other places too. Places that haven't been discovered, places that have been dubbed as historical and full of nature. In fact, it's not even a dream anymore. It's a plan. Don't get me wrong, it won't be easy. I still have a long way to go but that doesn't stop me. But then movies like The Shallows come in and I'm having second thoughts. Just kidding. Sharks eating people won't stop me from accomplishing my dream. Heck no! In fact, if the audience now see sharks as vicious and eat humans every chance they get because of this...
cassiopeia May 5, 2018 in Movies grief & awkwardness Awkward characters are, ironically, so cool. Like, I could just point at the big screen with awe and adoration and be like, "That's me!" They're great. I mean, it just shows that they're human. That they are genuine and sometimes, we're awkward too! Don't try to deny it. I'm pretty sure there was that one time where you're in a family reunion and you don't know nearly all of people there that you just stand in the corner and smile awkwardly as someone comes up to you and pats your back or pinches your cheek. Or that time you hear from someone that one likes you but you're friends with one and you don't know how to act towards one now that you know one's secret and you...
cassiopeia May 5, 2018 in Television anime & friends I'm new to watching anime. I've heard about numerous animes courtesy of my older cousin, Pat, but I didn't bother watching any of them because it wasn't really something I thought I would enjoy at that age. But now that I'm older and more open-minded and willing to discover new stuff, I thought I'd try it. Being somewhat like a freshman to anime and the japanese terms and all that, it was slightly hard finding a good anime to start with. For one, I don't know what 'slice of life' meant as a genre. Is it like a metaphor, just like how "piece of cake" is or..? What. And also, "otaku", "tsundere", and "harem". So, yeah. I had to pretty much google stuff I found that I don't know or was...
cassiopeia May 4, 2018 in Movies time & universes Of all the science fiction (?) I've read and watched, In Time's world just seems the most appealing to live in, unless you're poor. Then welp, sorry. I mean, Suzanne Collins's imagination and creativity are great but no, thank you. I'd rather not get chosen and be removed from my hometown only to be forced to train and kill people who if united, can take down the system and the people who chose us to entertain them. Nope, thanks for the offer though, and really? Who'd want to be part of the Capitol with their crazy ass fashion and extravagantly hideous pink feather eyelashes? Same with Divergent; I'm just too unique (*whispers* fabulous) to be placed in only one faction. The Giver's...
