World Of Cosplay ♡
One of my biggest passions in life is cosplay. I actually haven't been doing it for very long, only two years, but after my first time at a convention dressed up, I was hooked.
Cosplay, sadly, is costly. Yes, you can do cheap low budget cosplays. However I am a bit of a perfectionist so I love using EVA foam and worbla. For my Mercy cosplay I made a mechanical rotating, LED light staff.
I have been surprised by the lack of knowledge some people have had on cosplay. Some not knowing what it is. Some saying they couldn't do it because they didn't have the right body size. I want to make something clear right now.
Cosplayers are very accepting.
I have never met a cosplayer who cared about your body size. They're generally geeks who are just as weird as you are. They are dressed up at a convention, therefore they obviously don't care about the opinion of others. You should be confident. I am not skinny, I am not fat either but I am chubby, it took everything I had to cosplay as D.Va. I was super shy about doing it and to top it off it was my first ever cosplay so I was unaware how normal it was at conventions. I was surprised when I had so many people come up and say hi and fan girl/boy over my outfit. I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone. You won't regret it and you could have a lot of fun.
I guess what I wanted to say out of this is that I love cosplay and I want more people to get involved. If you're one of those people who are shy and curious about the experience, I suggest you go for it. Contact some people who cosplay, they will tell you the same thing. Maybe try it out yourself and you will soon find out how awesome it is.
Your costumes are amazing!
Thank you! 💜
