Starting Out As A Twitch Streamer.
Twitch is something I always wanted to experience but never thought I would be ableto due to lack of equipment/pc upgrades. I asked my sister if I could borrow her Webcam about a week ago and I set up an account on Twitch and I have not regretted it.
First off, let me just say. The amount of times I have had people say "you're a girl though" as their way of saying it would be easier for me than it is for guys is ridiculous. Being a girl has honestly not helped me since I began twitch. As you can see from the picture above, I streamed for seven hours straight, while drunk so I was talking a lot and in a group so it was hopefully less boring than my usual streams and only five people watched it. Maybe if I hung my tits out and was trying to sell myself with my body then it would be easy.
The reason I started Twitch was because I play Overwatch everyday and I figured "why not put this hobby to a bigger use" so now I shove myself in front of a camera and let people stare at my intense mad looking gamer face. I literally don't smile unless I'm in a voice chat where people are talking to me cause I am an awkward potato. But that is okay because if you are awkward, you can still stream. Streaming shouldn't feel like a job or hassle, for me it just runs in the background while I game as just something extra. It can be really fun (yes. Even if nobody is watching)! c:
It creates the opportunity to connect to people with similar interests with you. I have had some people ask if they can game with me on it through finding me on Twitch which has been pretty cool. I have streamed everyday since I started apart from the past 2 days because it was my birthday and I was with family. I plan on getting back into it soon. Sadly I will be on holiday soon also so I won't be able to stream during that time either most likely. But I have high hopes for the future!
If you have a twitch account let me know in the comments and we can follow each other! I encourage you to start streaming if you have been wanting to, don't let anything hold you back, whether is be shyness, lack on a camera or worries that you're not a skilled enough gamer. Just do it for yourself. Never stream for views or fame. Stream because you feel like it regardless of how many people are watching.
Thank you so much for reading and don't forget to hit that follow button if you even slightly liked this post. ❤️
I can relate to this haha I started streaming on twitch properly at the start of 2017 and only just hit 100 followers, its really hard to grow on twitch now aye!
Haha yeah it's pretty tough, I wish you the best with your twitch and congrats on the 100 followers!
It looks like you have to be streaming constantly. I’m not sure if it’d take up too much time, you know? Doesn’t ninja do it for like ten hours a day or something? That’s crazy
You don't have to constantly be streaming but once people get famous they are able to because they get paid for it. Which means they probably don't have a full time job or any job aside from their online streaming/media. So most people start off not streaming as much as bigger youtubers. Also all it takes to join the affiliate is I think it's 25 hours (I think) worth of streaming a month and at least 50 followers.
