Why I’ll Be Forever Alone.
It’s become a mindless notion; to swipe left and right. You do it on the train, on the bus, in your lunch break, when you need to studying. He’s 1km away. She’s 12 miles away. It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, everyone’s doing it. Tinder. Bumble. Grindr.
Welcome to the 21st Century where no one communicates anymore.
The dating ‘game’ has never been more of a game as it is now. Once you get a match, it’s then another game, waiting to see who messages first. Then, if your overthinking hasn’t kicked in by then and you do end up texting - well then it’s time figure out whether this person is the following:
1. A casual hook up.
2. A ‘let’s just see where things go’ person.
3. A criminal.
4. A bot.
I mean, how does one pick with such a line up....
Don’t get me wrong, the internet and social media has brought wonders to community and worldwide interaction - but it’s become a substitute for our natural communication.
When I had my first ever relationship, I was asked out and told that I was loved over Facebook messenger.
That’s not uncommon anymore.
Tbh, I just want to be written letters.
Fuck Zuckerberg.
You won't be alone forever ☹️
