9 things you wish you realized as a child
While the world is ours to explore as little tykes, we cannot help but ponder, maybe we could have been better people if we made more mistakes when we were young, or when there was someone who made us reflect on these things.
1) Primary School Bullies need our help
When we were kids, we always hold a grudge towards those who give us wedgies, or to those who make fun of the things we like to do the most. But only 'til we get to college do we realize, that they are also having troubles at home. That all they seek is attention, someone who will help them become better people.
2) Love can wait
We were so into the idea of a fairytale love story that we failed to realize that it will take time. The person we are destined to be is not really our crush, but someone out there who is also waiting for you.
3) People will come and go
For those of us who had a childhood bestfriend who moved to another state, or have great friends but grew up to be distant, we have to understand this. Each of us is meant to teach lessons to another and the system goes on and on. We have to accept if they are about to leave our lives, but we must learn from their stories, or else we will pay the consequences of the future, twice.
4) Things happen for a reason
As a child we are so devastated when our best friend puppy dies, or when we don't get to go to SeaWorld or Disneyland. But at the end of the day, we know that everybody experiences hardships in order to help us grow stronger. As a child, we should appreciate life events.
5) The world is cruel, but stay positive
Most of us grew up becoming sad at how adults treat other adults, how evil exists in a lot of areas of society, and how conflicts happen every day. But we have to be the better person, we have to know that change happens if we start within ourselves, and we start young.
6) School is important
Every person working for a 9-5 job would understand that going to school is not a joke. We need skills if we want to earn a higher wage.
7) Your parents will grow old one day
A famous proverb once said, that everyone is so busy growing up, that we tend to forget that our are growing old. As a child we should appreciate everything our parents are doing for us. Give them the honor they deserve. Because at the end of the day, time is ticking.
8) SAVING when we were advised to do so could help us check off our bucketlists.
Every college student gets this!!!! I could not say more. Hahaha.
9) SLEEPING the most of our time when we were told to is a luxury.
Let's be honest on this one. We were so fueled by our drive to play, have fun, and explore, that we forgot a basic principle, parents know what's best for us. When they told us to sleep in a weekend afternoon, or tuck in bed early, it was because they know we're never getting back a life free from responsibilities.
So there you have it guys, the best way our society can move forward is if we pay it forward. With these points, I hope you help your kiddos reflect on these thoughts. Surely, they'll grow up making the most of the moments we have now. :)
