How many times have you guys been saying “I’m gonna ace my exam!” but always ended up with “I wish I studied better”? For me, it has been a lot that I gave up counting the failed attempts. Two years ago, however, I finally found the key to stop it from repeating itself, well, more like to stop me from repeating my failed attempts.

The mistake is simple yet crucial; not preparing your study correctly. In this post, I will share some tips and tricks to start prepping for your study goals. Keep scrolling peeps!

1. Establish your study goal and be committed!

Before you actually study, you need to determine your study goal. Trust me, this is super helpful to get your mind straight and keep your head studying in the future.

Personal preference: My study goal is simple, “Learn something and ace it”. Clear and gets right to the point. I believe one cannot simply just ‘get good grades’ and not keeping it persistent. So for the long run, this is my suitable motto.

2. Know your learning-type!

Get this, you have gotten everything set, but you executed it poorly because your way of learning is apparently not suitable with what you’re trying to do now. Not to worry fellas because there’s a bunch of learning-types out there. Now you just have to pick which one is yours and we can get to the last yet important step.

Personal preference: My learning type is a combination of visual and audio. Music absolutely helps me in doing homework. I usually set my Spotify up, put in on speaker and get lost in my own ‘study’ world.

3. Organize your study schedule!

Nothing is ever more convenient than knowing exactly what you want to do right now. From my past experience, messy schedule, or perhaps not scheduling at all, are stressing my brain out by the end of the day because I don’t know what to do with my given extra time, and when it comes down to the last minutes, I usually screw up.

Planning is extremely important!! I cannot stress this enough. The first baby step is to simply decide by the end of this week how many chapters you’re going to learn. This way you can get into advance planning, like choosing the most comfortable time and place to study.

Personal preference: I usually spare 10 minutes on Sunday to outline my study plan. My most effective study time is at night, this might sounds weird but it’s true. Although, that does’t give me an excuse for not studying in other time.

Thank you for reading! These have helped me a lot and I hope it goes the same for you guys! 👍
