Bloc Party’s first album, Silent Alarm, came out in 2005 when Indie Brit pop was taking the world by storm. Personally, as an 14 year old wannabe indie rocker, I genuinely LOVED this album. Kele’s singing, the guitar riffs, the emo/angsty lyrics - checked all the boxes for me! Unfortunately, Bloc Party’s subsequent albums kept missing the mark for me. They lost their raw ‘recorded this in my garage’ sound and retreated to a more produced eclectic sound. Now they’re back and touring performing their first (and best) album!!
