J.N.R Dutton Dec 7, 2019 in disability Defending Fair Wages For The Working Disabled Many disabled literally can’t work, but those that can work should be paid reasonably for their contributions just like their peers. Recently though, I heard about someone who evidently believes the working disabled should be paid less than even basic minimum wage. Such an attitude tells the working disabled that their contributions are inherently inferior to even their lowest paid able bodied colleagues. It’s stunning bigotry, to say the least.

At one point it could be found on Netflix, but given that at times they remove content, I can't promise it's still on there now, though there is no harm in checking of course. Anyway, it's a biopic of Amberley Snyder. For those who don't know who she is, she is a rodeo star who was paralyzed in a truck accident in 2010. After her accident, she fought hard to get back to her life and career. She is now also an inspirational speaker.

You’re fighting insomnia, crying, burping, dirty nappies, feeding all hours of the night. Being a parent who has a physical disability can be double stressful, you’re fighting off people who say such things like, you shouldn’t reproduce, that you should’ve had an abortion, the poor child is going to end up a little slave or end up in child protective services and that the disabled mum is selfish for passing on her horrid...
