Cruelty Free Make Up

Since making the decision to go vegan I've become more aware of the products that I use in daily life- what's in them, how they're made. I was quite shocked to find that a lot of the products that are staples in my day to day life are made by companies that are highly unethical and that STILL test on animals.

Not cool!

The main disappointment was finding out that I could no longer use my trusty Mac lipstick. Even though they say that they don't test on animals (have a read of their website here) they supply their make up products to China, and China require products to be tested on poor, innocent animals.

What you need to look out for when choosing your products is that cute little bunny symbol. There's actually three types of bunny that alerts you to the fact that there's been no animal testing.

One of my favourite brands that I've discovered is INIKA. They even have the exact colour I used to get from Mac.

They're a U.K. based brand but you can get their products via Vegan Online. It'll only set you back an extra 5 or 6 dollars.

Well worth it in my opinion if it means I can wear my lipstick and know that I haven't caused unnecessary pain to an innocent animal.
