Argentina and Portugal Out

Wow. The knockout stages see both Portugal and Argentina, and the special one's who got them there, Ronaldo and Messi, exit the World Cup on the same day.

A crazy goal fest between France and Argentina gave us 7 goals(FRA 4-2 ARG) including a 30 stunner by by Di Maria, incredible volley by Pavard, and Mbappe running through Argentina's defence - LITERALLY.

Anyhow, we have got to question one person : Sampaoli.

You have such quality on the bench and you're 4-2 down with 20 minutes to go, what do you have to lose? 

You bring Aguero,Dybala,Higuan, discard Icardi (Pun intended) Which probably he's regretting now.

For the Portugal vs Uruguay match, it was a defensive masterclass yet again by Godin and Gimenez, Shutting down Portugals main threat Cristiano Ronaldo, and winning 1-0.

I was unconvinced of Uruguay's start to the tournament (Where they beat Egypt 1-0) but it appears to be the game plan, which they've executed perfectly.

This World Cup has had some crazy results, very competitive, and i wouldn't even be surprised if Spain or England gets knocked out at this point.
