Not His Ever After

           I saw him smiling with eyes dancing whenever the sunlight hits his eyes.

           It’s when I realized that those set of eyes; those set of jet black mesmerizing eyes are the ones my heart will perpetually beat for eternity.

           Oh, how I was not prepared for what will come.

           I saw him, in the midst of noise, he's not shining like a beacon like how you usually see on movies; he's there, all alive, breathing in all his glory. Striving to become better, weaving his dreams and making passion his heartbeat.

    He's there, away from me, chasing what he loves while my heart chases for him.

           Day by day, my love for him grew... but so does my pain. Loving him from a distance is a dagger stabbed and twisted in my gut where there's no blood left but my undying and unyielding love. His smiles are my endless redemption, his existence my ethereal compass.

         As I struggle to live while loving him from great depths made me realize that there might never have a chance in my lifetime for him to understand the extents nor the dark corners of my love. That without him, I will be lost and confused. But without me, his world will still strive with time and nothing else would matter but him.

         During these times, my heart has softly thump the melodious rhythm of loving him without expecting anything in return and understood that loving him without asking for anything is forever artless.

         Artless. For it stands beyond human imperfection; it eludes the idea of happy ever afters but emphasizes the long and lasting cycle of giving a part of you with no pretense.

    I can always love him while he gets to love somebody else.

       Because when you love it doesn't matter if you are part of his story, or if you are the middle of his sentence. When you love, you love.

    NO.

  Because when I love, I love.
  Even if I am not his ever after.
