Dealing with anxiety on the daily 💫

I feel anxiety everyday sometimes in small amounts, others in huge amounts.

For me it all started when i think I was 15 years old, I felt anxious about everything. I was anxious about school, my friends, social interaction, my family, and everyday life.

When I am feeling rather anxious I tend to get overwhelmed easily and feeling like I want to be isolated and separated from others completely.

I think my feelings of self doubt and constant overthinking began when I used to have some unhealthy friendships which resulted in a bottling of emotions because I felt I could not escape or release the way I felt because of the risk of getting attacked verbally.

But over time I’ve learnt some ways to cope with it,

1. If you are at the time feeling anxious in social situations there is always the option of asking for help or maybe separating from the area for a short moment to collect yourself and take some breaths.

2. Ask a friend for help. I know it seems cheesy and lame but it does help, I know that asking for help from someone I know might seem a tad annoying but it does help. (If they truly are your companion and your dear friend they would understand)

3. Take a break. Take a moment or two to take some breaths of air and relax, put on some soothing guitar or hard rock (depending on your preference) and just sit down and try to keep your mind blank just for a second.

4. Eat. Make sure you are eating plenty and staying hydrated, it is very important to keep your humanoid body compatible for use in later life.

5. Find someone you can talk to. Getting listened to is very important, I know this is important because when I feel anxious or down at all I often feel invisible and not worth being heard, but this is absolutely not true. Get a therapist, a friend, a family member, or even a stranger online to talk to about your feelings and let it all out.

6. Don’t be afraid to speak up when something or someone is wrong. It’s scary yes but if it truly effects and bothers you use. your. voice.
